Description

Our client is a major plastics distributor within Engineering plastics.


As an Application Development Engineer for our Plastics distribution business, you will be positioning materials in development applications at OEMs and their molders and developing relationships with engineers, specifiers and suppliers.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

·     Growing sales at customers (OEMs, Molders), aligned with Sales, Key-Account Managers, Suppliers, and technical support staff.

·     Promote and position materials at customers/prospects incl. training and project acquisition (incl. trade shows, conferences and preparation of sales tools).

·     Feedback to suppliers about strategic input portfolio management and future product developments.

·     Maintain existing and establish new customer relationships with emphasis on key accounts.

· Translate technology/growth opportunities to new geographies/customers.

·     Drive specific applications for existing and new products portfolios.

·     Lead visits to customer sites both independently and in coordination with the sales organization.

·     Gather market competitive intelligence including new technologies and market trends.

 


Requirements

·     Bachelor degree in with plastics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related engineering coursework.

·     Fluent in Dutch/German and English.

·     Minimum of 5 years of Plastics industry.

·     Proven, relevant qualifications in the following areas: self-motivating, enthusiastic, pro-active and time

·     management.

·     Must be a team player and leader on assigned projects.

·     Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills along with the ability to work independently.

·     Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

·     Work effectively and coordinate with counterparts across poles.

·     Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are required.

·     Experience with Salesforce.com is a plus.
